  Attorney Biography

  M. Cristina Del-Valle was born on December 26, 1948, in Havana, Cuba. She obtained an Associate of Arts Degree in applied music (piano) from St. Joseph College with honors in philosophy and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Art Education with double minors in English Literature and Philosophy from Florida State University. She became professor at, and crew-member of, the tall ship TeVega – an accredited college preparatory school ship – sailing around the world for over two years. She earned her Juris Doctor Degree from Nova University School of Law in 1981, where she received a Moot Court Silver Tongue Award and served as staff member of the Law Review.

Ms. Del-Valle clerked at Colson & Hicks, P.A. during law school and upon graduation became the Senior/ Managing Partner of Del-Valle & Netsch, P.A. concentrating in the areas of real estate, art & entertainment. In 1985, she formed Del-Valle & Reichenbacher, expanding the real estate services and representing foreign and domestic clients in the fashion, modeling, recording, film, television, fine arts and events production industry. Her involvement with the then fledging entertainment industry led her to represent producers and actors of the highest-rated Spanish language soaps – the firsts to be produced in Miami. Additionally, Ms Del-Valle has herself negotiated, managed and produced live concerts of performing artists, such as the sold-out premiere of the Gypsy Kings from France and Maria Bethania from Brazil.

During the 80’s, Miami witnessed the birth of several major arts organizations. Ms Del-Valle, with years of experience in the arts, a law degree and a commitment to community service, joined the Executive Committees of the Miami Film Festival and Miami International Book Fair. It was during those crucial founding years that she served as Treasurer and Chairman of the Entertainment Committee of the latter and as President of the former. In 1988 she co-founded the Miami Film Festival’s Jazz Club.

As a result of a lifelong interest, education and experience in the arts, Ms Del-Valle’s client base expanded to include architects, designers, galleries, art dealers, collectors, museum professionals, art consultants and painters from Cuba and from New York, whose rapid influx commenced to enrich the South Florida arts-scene exponentially during the late 80’s and are still doing so. She became President of the Cuban Museum of Art and Culture in 1994 and was successful, as a lead negotiator with the University of Miami, in providing an optimum conservation-environment for the art collection by merging the Cuban Museum’s collection with that of UM’s Lowe Art Museum. She remained as a member of the collection’s Advisory Board.

In 1995, while continuing to concentrate in the areas of transactional real estate and art law, she became Of Counsel to Spencer & Klein, P.A. Nine years later, in 2004, Ms Del-Valle joined Fieldstone Lester Shear and Denberg, LLP as Of Counsel. She continues to concentrate in the areas of transactional real estate and art law and is active in the local non-profit arts community.
